Welsh Immersion Unit - Carreg Lam
Are you considering transferring your child to Welsh-medium education?
It's never too late to begin their bilingual journey!
Carreg Lam is a Welsh language immersion unit in Torfaen that supports primary school pupils in Years 2 to 6 who wish to transfer from English-medium to Welsh-medium education.
The unit provides a period of intensive Welsh language learning in a supportive environment, helping children develop the language skills and confidence they need to continue their education through the medium of Welsh.
Pupils typically attend the unit for approximately 12 weeks before beginning a supported transition into a mainstream Welsh-medium school in Torfaen.
