Welsh-medium nursery provision in Swansea
Nursery provision is available at all 10 Welsh-medium primary schools in Swansea, giving children the opportunity to start using Welsh from an early age.
Other opportunities are also available for young children and their families through Cymraeg i Blant, Ti a Fi groups and Cylchoedd Meithrin.
Ti a Fi groups give parents, carers and young children the opportunity to play, socialise and enjoy activities through the medium of Welsh. All families are welcome, including families where Welsh is not spoken at home.

Joining Welsh-medium education at a later stage
Children can join Welsh-medium education at a later stage, even if they have not attended a Welsh-medium school from the beginning.
Canolfan Trochi Iaith Gymraeg Garn Goch provides additional support for primary-aged children joining a Welsh-medium school at a later stage who need support to develop their Welsh.

Canolfan Trochi Iaith Gymraeg Garn Goch
The centre helps children develop their Welsh-language skills and confidence so that they can take a full part in life at their new school.
Children receiving support will usually:
- attend the centre for three days a week for intensive Welsh-language lessons and activities;
- receive ongoing support in their school, with the team visiting them on Fridays; and
- receive support for approximately three terms, depending on the child’s needs.

Age 16 and beyond – continuing your education through Welsh
Your Welsh-medium education journey does not have to end after completing your GCSEs. There are opportunities to continue studying, training and using Welsh after the age of 16.
Ysgol Gyfun Gŵyr and Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe both offer Sixth Form provision, including a range of A Level options.
Learners can also continue their education at Gower College Swansea, where there are opportunities to study and use Welsh across a range of courses, as well as some apprenticeship and training opportunities.

There are many ways parents and carers can support Welsh at home, even if they are only beginning to learn the language themselves.
Support and opportunities are available through organisations including Cymraeg i Blant, Mudiad Meithrin, Menter Iaith Abertawe, Urdd Gobaith Cymru and Learn Welsh – Swansea Bay Region.
