About Us
Cymraeg i Bawb – Opening Doors to Welsh-Medium Education Across Wales
Cymraeg i Bawb is a national campaign dedicated to promoting Welsh-medium education and supporting families across Wales to make informed, confident decisions about their children's education.
We believe that the Welsh language belongs to everyone, regardless of their linguistic background. Our aim is to ensure that every family has access to the information, encouragement and support they need to consider Welsh-medium education and embrace the opportunities that bilingualism can offer.
Our Work
We work alongside schools, local authorities, Mentrau Iaith (Welsh language initiatives) and other partners across Wales to raise awareness of Welsh-medium education and promote it in a positive, inclusive and accessible way.
Through our work, we aim to:
- Support families by providing clear information and useful resources about Welsh-medium education.
- Empower schools by developing resources and sharing best practices to help them promote their Welsh-medium provision.
- Collaborate nationally by sharing ideas, expertise and resources between organisations and communities across Wales.
- Share real experiences to challenge misconceptions and highlight the benefits of Welsh-medium education for children and their families.
- Promote opportunities for children, young people and families to use Welsh beyond the classroom.
From a Regional Partnership to a National Campaign
Cymraeg i Bawb began as a partnership in South East Wales, bringing organisations together to collaborate on promoting Welsh-medium education.
In 2025, the initiative expanded across Wales under the leadership of Mentrau Iaith Cymru, building on the foundations of the original partnership and creating new opportunities for collaboration at a national level.
Today, we continue to develop our work with partners throughout Wales, sharing information, resources and best practices to support families and communities in every part of the country.
Our Vision
Our vision is for a Wales where every child and family feels that the Welsh language belongs to them, and where Welsh-medium education is an accessible, welcoming and confident choice for everyone.
By working together, sharing experiences and supporting one another, we can help create more opportunities for children and young people to learn, live and thrive through the Welsh language.
